Flashpoint

“How far would you go to bring back those you love”.

This is one of the most exciting adaptation of The Flash series.
Shows a whole new world of what could have been or what could have happened if Barry Allen (The Flash) would have prevented his mother’s death and how it would cause a butterfly effect, impacting everything and everyone around him to change, though it may be minute but enough to cause a shift and send ripples of distortion across the timeline, Such as
·         Barry never meeting Iris West (His wife in the original timeline)
·         Barry’s Mother being alive.
·         Death of Bruce Wayne (The Original Batman) instead of his parents leading his Father, Thomas Wayne to become the Flashpoint Batman and his Mother Martha Wayne to become this time lines version of the Joker.
·         Superman’s spaceship to land in Metropolis rather than on the Kent farm in Smallville, due to which is the kept in a secret government facility.
·         Aquaman and Wonderman are at war as WW killed his wife Mera. Captain Atom is kept as a secret weapon by Aquaman through whom he destroys the whole world.
·          Hal Jordan never becomes the Green Lantern. And is killed by Aquaman’s fleet.
·         Citizen Cold (Captain Cold) of this timeline is the world’s hero.
·         Cyborg works for the government.
·         All together the justice league never came into existence.
·         All the heroes (criminals of the original timeline) including Deathstroke and Lex Luther, Cyborg, Batman and the Shazam Kids unit to fight as a rebellious group to stop Aquaman and Wonderwomen from both sides.
·         Barry cannot fully harness the speed force as he was being prevented to do so by Dr. Zoom AKA the Reverse Flash.

This adaptation also puts our focus on each of these characters individually and better expresses why the DC universe needs these heroes and how lost we would be without them as there is no ounce of hope in this timeline. The sheer brutality of this adaptation will put you on the edge of your seat. The thriller feel will have you hooked.
One of the best series written by Geoff Johns.

''The Upsurge of Superhero Genre''

Presently the most popular movies in the Hollywood industry are without a doubt the superhero movies. This achievement is not something that happened overnight, but it follows back to decades of a huge list of the superhero movies. In 1930s comics came as a vital source of entertainment targetin
g the children with a variety of superhero comics and the abundance of different stories and timelines that they followed. Marvel and DC both started in 1930s and both had their own characters followed by their origins and timelines and how different characters were linked to others which we now experience in the Marvel and DC cinematic universe. As said before comics focused primarily on the children with silly costumes and the pageantry etc. and no adult considered these comics as a serious thing from which they could get joy. As the comic books rose to popularity, soon they were adapted into movies under the banner of two distinct production houses the Marvel and DC.

The first big budget movie that was made in 1980s introduced the Superman as a DC superhero played by Christopher Reeves and the production was done by DC and warner brothers. The film grabbed the attention of many people but still they didn’t get what they expected. People were more driven towards a cinematic experience with good special effects and a strong sense of action sequences. The follow up superman movies just started getting worse in terms of quality and storytelling to an extent that DC had to terminate the superman franchise for that time. Precedented by a failed superman franchise DC was not willing to give up and made efforts to revive the superhero cinema with their second-best known character ‘The Batman’. The first two movies in the late 80s of the batman franchise did comparatively well but yet again movies that followed like ‘’Batman and Robin’’ and ‘’Batman Forever’’ were a box office failure. Mixed reaction of audience and failure of superhero movies especially the Batman franchise almost marked the death of this genre in the 90s and because of a non-serious input by the audience not much efforts were being made to bring an advancement and improvements to this genre movies.

Marvel had also been producing movies of its popular characters which again were not able to set a standard for this genre like the devastating Captain America movie in the 90s. The movie was so bad in terms of quality and experience that you couldn’t have asked for any worse and this project of marvel could be considered as part of their ultimate fails. Subsequently, in early 2000s attempts were made again to revive superhero cinema by Marvel when they introduced their X-Men universe by releasing some outclass movies such as X-Men, X2 and X-Men the Last Stand. Spiderman movies starring Tobey Maguire were also among the famous movies of early 2000s. From both an audience and critiques perspective these movies were looked upon as a fun to look at, action set pieces and special effects etc. During the Oscars season superhero movies could only mark their presence in the visual and special effects category and not in any other major category. On the parallel, DC also took a strong initiative and revived its character of Batman that went dead in its previous franchise. But this time around DC trusted the works of Christopher Nolan and placed the character of Batman in his hands. Nolan putting his directorial skills to its fullest potential took this genre to another level by releasing The Batman Begins starring Christian Bale as batman which was the foundation of the unforgettable batman trilogy. Then followed by The Dark Knight the intense and striking performance by Heath Ledger as Joker had entirely changed the concept of superhero genre and transformed it into a more meaningful dramatic thrillers with which people could relate to. The final installment in the trilogy was The Dark knight Rises starring Tom Hardy as Bane and the movie with its strong content and storyline represented a superhero movie in a manner that people now looked it differently not as something that is just fun to look at but a serious and respectable creative art piece. In the dark knight movie, it was not about the costumes or the visual effects, yet they were there and were presented really well but on the contrary some scenes were so intense that they pushed audience emotionally and made them think about the concepts of evil and good that were discussed wonderfully.
Following an up shift trend in the popularity of superhero movies in the 2000s Marvel studios was tempted to introduce its extended universe which proved to be very successful as they humanized larger than life characters which we know as Thor, Hulk, Iron-Man, Captain America etc. with whom people could relate to. This universe marked the highly grossing Infinity Saga of Marvel a series of films that related with each other’s timeline and brought the best marvel superheroes together as Avengers. DC also introduced its extended universe by releasing movies like Wonder woman, Man of steel, Batman vs Superman and Justice league. However, the DC universe movies were not that successful and had mixed reviews in comparison to Marvels and why is that opens another debate which we would not get into here. It would be biased not to mention about another Marvel movie Logan which was again a lot more than just a superhero movie starring theatrical actors Hugh Jack man and Patrick Stuart in which you observe acting at a higher standard. They showed their tremendous acting skills and presented the concept of tragedy and loss in a tremendous manner.

As a result, facing many ups and downs throughout the decades superhero movies have now become very stable and mark a significant place in the Hollywood industry. These movies are now more than just a silly visual effects movie and more of a serious creative piece of work with strong content and high cinematic standards that is respected by a broader audience including adults.

THE INCREDIBLE HULK REVIEW

'The Incredible Hulk' recounts to the narrative of Dr. Bruce Banner who looks for a fix to his remarkable condition, which makes him transform into a goliath green beast under enthusiastic pressure. While on the keep running from military which looks for his catch, Banner approaches a fix. Be that as it may, all is lost when another creature rises; The Abomination.

Ed. Norton was incredible as Bruce Banner. He was constantly quiet, calm and in control. He was Vulcan in his order and truly sold how a lot of work it would take to be responsible for your feelings day in and out. His depiction of banner grappling with himself added struggle and depth to the character and an astounding measure of strain to the film.

This film has 3 fundamental fight scenes and I loved them all just for various reasons. My most favorite was probably the yard fight, since we can simply see what is happening and the utilization of sonic guns was just epic. The first fight in a bottling plant had the best part of the film and the third demonstration enabled us to see the hulk duke it out against a worthy adversary. The Hulk beat the ground, tossed huge amount of stuff and regularly utilized massive foreign objects as stopgap obtuse weapons. i was satisfied with the choreography of the brutality and the heap of manners by which they conveyed it.

There was a sub plot in the movie where Bruce requests help for a fix, and i saw it was staggeringly faltering. I can comprehend that he might search for a fix himself, yet i never purchased that he would get help from any other individual. At the point when Bruce meets with the researcher that has been helping him over the web (Mr. Blue), they attempt to direct a fix which could possibly work... what's more, after 5 minutes in the film- they trust it doesn't work. I was left pondering--what's the point? On the off chance that this whole sub plot had been stricken from the story, it would have been greatly improved for it.

Reactions aside, I enjoyed Hulk and suggest that you see it. The pieces were there to make this film extraordinary, yet a progressively liberal utilization of the altering blade and predominant climax would have made this a better film.I thought the film was great, not incredible, and out of 10 i will give it a 7.

JOKER REVIEW

After a staggering success of Heath Ledger's villainous sensation,
DC's new "Joker" has been perceived to be the ultimate
psychotic killer reigning the streets of the forsaken and deeply corrupt city of Gotham. The recent thriller "Joker" delineates the origin of the character and what led to the birth of a cold-hearted psychotic killer and how the people of Gotham inspired a clown to start a revolution against the system. Amid its release, the movie has been a subject to a lot of criticism and controversies. For instance, people walked out of the cinema mid-show claiming "it's too dark" while being totally nescient and unable to assimilate what "too dark" actually means. Similarly one critic put it as "The reasons of Arthur Fleck's transformation into Joker never really happen in reality". Despite the criticism & controversies, the movie has gained a lot applause & success across the globe. Some viewers have failed to grasp or comprehend the actual concept of the movie that is "Social Vulnerability". It's REAL. In a cruel city as Gotham it was indispensable for Arthur to be effected sooner or later. From struggling to find a better job yet attempting persistently to love what he does, he got mugged in the streets, snitched on by a friend, deluded and oblivious of the truth about his parents & most importantly made fun of in "Murray Franklin's Show"(which triggered an antagonist in him and the chaos began). He had no one to listen to his fears or negative thoughts as he said it; "All I have are negative thoughts but you don't listen".

After finding out about his presumed father "Thomas Wayne". Arthur reached out to him and as soon as Wayne realizes its the son of Penny Fleck as he had a history with Penny, Thomas Wayne offered money to Arthur, pity right? Arthur's words "Are you serious? I don't need your money. How about a hug dad? How about nice to see you son?" pretty much explains the reality of our lives. Money is not the prerequisite of happiness.

The point where movie lacked primarily was rather than dragging the story by explaining his insecurities and difficulties to settle or to find secure means of income, the main focus should have been on Arthur's childhood and how he was abused by his father & neglected by his mother which put an adverse effect on his physical and mental health and he remained volatile for the rest of his life. Another pitfall considering the linkup shown between the Joker & Bruce Wayne, remember the Joker had a scar on his face in "The Dark Knight"?. Considering the movie "Joker" as the prequel of Joker's early life the story behind the scar and the incident was not found. A misconception which prevails among the viewer's minds is who performed better? Some say Heath set the par too high for Phoenix to reach. That's not true. Both the stars had different & difficult roles to play and totally different stories. It's not easy to disguise a character whose sole purpose is comedy and playing it a villain. Joaquin played it brilliantly & kept us focused through-out the two-hour show. Whether Joaquin Phoenix deserves an Oscar or not its for the jury to decide. In the meantime, let's just commend his performance rather than fighting because none of you is getting an Oscar for the best argument.

-Knock Knock, BAM!!! 💥
